He is a descendant of the royal family of Mewar in which Kings like “Maharana Sanga” and “Maharana Pratap Singh” of Mewar have born.

Early Life of Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar-

Since childhood, he was raised to honor the golden history of his 1500-year-old Mewar. His childhood was spent listening to his brave ancestors, traditions, and their valor.

He was greatly inspired by his grandfather Bhagwat Singh Mewar, who performed many philanthropic works for the community, fulfilling his social and moral responsibilities.

Education and Career –

Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar completed his schooling at Indian boarding school, Mayo College, Ajmer.

Having been interested in cricket since childhood, he continued the family tradition of excelling in cricket even during his school time, and for this, he was presented with the college ‘Colors’ for the game.

Talk about Mayo College, the college was specially established to educate young men from the royal and noble families of the country. Mewar’s contribution to the establishment and development of Mayo College is invaluable.

After completion of schooling, he started his further studies by enrolling in Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, Australia, and got a Bachelor of Commerce degree for further studies.

Thereafter, he gained invaluable hands-on experience by serving and working at all levels of the hotel management profession, enhancing his skills and developing himself into good hospitality professional.

While advancing his courses, Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar further enriched his knowledge of the hospitality industry from Nanyang University Singapore and was associated with new trends in the hospitality business.

In addition, he attended a workshop on visitor care and security at the Albert and Victoria Museum in London in the years 2009-2010 and learnings from this workshop helped him to improve the safety and security of visitors to The City Palace, Udaipur, and at all the hotel properties of the HRH Group of Hotels across Rajasthan.


By Showing confidence in himself, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar started his career by working as a waiter at Four Seasons Hotel and later worked in several cafes while staying in Australia.

Finally, he returned to Udaipur and joined his family business and restarted the famous Jagmandir Island Palace as his first venture.

In the year 2006-07, under his management, Jagmandir Island Palace of Udaipur strengthened its position as one of the most distinctive regal Wedding venues in the world.

He then drew his attention to developing a European-style café at the picturesque Manekchowk of the City Palace, Udaipur.

Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar was very interested in cricket since childhood. He was appointed as the President of the Udaipur District Cricket Association due to his good sportsmanship and interest in cricket.

Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar lives with his family in his royal palace. Passionate about various forms of art, he spends most of his leisure time in painting as well as listening to Sufi music, flying RC planes, modeling aero, and playing tabla.

Apart from this, he also likes to spend time on photography and gardening. He also loves to travel and is a science geek, too.

His wife’s name is Nivritti Kumari Mewar, who belongs to the former royal family of Balangir.
